Training

We normally have club training sessions for all athletes (from 8 years old upwards) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The younger athletes (up to 12 years old) finish their session at 7:30 p.m., while older athletes (from 12 years old upwards) continue training until 8:00 p.m.

We use the facilities of St Jospeh's GFC at Commons Cross on the outskirts of Dromiskin village for our training sessions. These facilities include the Gaelic football field and the indoor community centre. There is also a community field (owned by the Roman Catholic parish of Darver and Dromiskin) at the back of the Gaelic football field which can be used for training in daylight hours. Facilities for athletics in the community field include a Tartan Long / Triple Jump runway and pit, and a concrete Shot Putt circle. There is a fee of 2 euro per family per week payable by athletes attending the club training.

St Peter's AC is very grateful to the parish and St Joseph's GFC for the access to their facilities.

Several of the older athletes in the club also travel regularly to venues further afield to participate in event-specific training sessions with athletes from other clubs.
