Emily 4th in Schools' International
For the second year in succession St Peter’s AC athlete Emily Rogers represented Ireland in the annual Anglo-Celtic Schools’ International, which was staged on Saturday 17th July. The venue for this year’s match, involving teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales in the Under 17 age group, was Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow.
Emily performed very well to finish in 4th place in the High Jump with a leap of 1.60m. This was a significant improvement on her performance in the same competition in 2009, when she had recorded an 8th place finish.
The winner in the match was Ffion Bodilly of Wales with a best of 1.70m, ahead of Emily’s Irish teammate Aisling Croke and Kate Anson of England, both of whom cleared 1.65m. Behind Emily came both athletes from the host nation, as well as the second-string representatives from England and Wales.
