Olivia helps Ireland win promotion
On the weekend of 20th and 21st June the Irish senior athletics team, led by Paul Hession and Derval O’Rourke, travelled to the Slovakian city of Banská Bystrica where they competed in the 2nd League of the European Team Championships. Just one athlete from County Louth was numbered among the elite of the country’s athletes. This was javelin thrower Olivia McDonald from Dromiskin-based St Peter’s AC.
Old Mobile Phones Wanted!
St Peter's AC want your old mobile phones! Talk To Me Mobile Phones are offering a brand new defibrillator, plus training in its use for up to six people free of charge, if 500 old / broken / used mobile phones can be collected by Monday 27th July 2009. The defibrillator would be based at the facilities of St Joseph's GFC in Dromiskin, which is where our athletes normally train. It is expected that at least one person from our club would be among the six to receive training in the use of the defibrillator.
Please help out - check the presses at home and ask your family, friends and work colleagues to do the same. "Bring Centres" have been set up in Centra, Londis and Mulligans in Dromiskin, or alternatively you can give your phone to any committee member. Contact Bob Dunne on 086-8104831 for full details.
